Definitely the 8 that are going are doing well. She's bringing me another dozen though cause so many were clears.

I'm shocked that I didn't get any clears with the 11 that I just put in from my flock. I thought they'd all be clears.

You sound like you have the same type of humidity I do one drop of rain and it spikes. I can't stand it that's why I do it dry.

I'm finding that at least this time of year even with the heat still running when it rains it's up to 40% so I don't really need to add anything

You have luck with you. Our temps dipped as she was collecting the eggs and I think that effects how long they are viable.

I'm finding that at least this time of year even with the heat still running when it rains it's up to 40% so I don't really need to add anything

We have central air and I thought that it would make it dry in the house, but it doesn't.

I have only been hatching in the fall through the winter so I'm interested to see how it works with spring through summer.

Okay I finally have some time to give you more detailed info. I think before I just told you how many eggs I had set. Sorry if this is redundant

Location: Chassell, MI
Current batch: 8 chicken eggs from my flock (barnyard mix), set 3/10. Set in a Janoel 12.
Humidity: holding at 19% but if it dips lower than that I will probably increase it to somewhere in the 20s. Otherwise I will not be adding water.

Notes:
I am thinking I will be candling D7, D14, and D18. I want to candle less than I did last time because I kind of wonder if I over handled the eggs.

I will stop turning D14.

I just got the call from my post office that my duck eggs showed up so I will be picking them up today, candling, and deciding how long to rest them before setting. 7/8 of these will go in a Brinsea Mini Advance II. If they are all undamaged I may stick the 8th egg in the Janoel.

Spring is coming and our snow is melting FAST. So outside humidity is up, around 81% right now according to accuweather. Indoors it is dryer, around 38-40% according to my lil hygrometers.

I should tell my husband to go ahead and set up the weather station he has been asking me for

I would like to ask everyone how they calculate their hatch rates so that we can decide if we are going to subtract the clears (unfertiles) or if we are doing the complete total of eggs we put in including clears
