My golden wyndotte Lucy has been sitting on an egg in the nesting box a lot lately and I noticed this yesterday and today. It is like yellow poop stuck to her feathers. I cleaned it with warm water. It was not too close to the vent. She is still laying eggs about every other day where before she did every day.

I’m planning to clean it off when I see it and try to make her move around more and less time sitting in the coop.
Love any other advice.

Is she starting to pull out any of her chest or belly feathers, or act broody? If she is broody you can break her in a wire dog crate with no bedding, but some food and water. If she is getting sick, then make sure that she is eating and drinking.

I can get her off the eggs pretty easily with a bribe of worm😀

It is easier to break her now before she gets really broody. But make sure that she is going broody and not getting sick. Mine usually break in 3-4 days, but some take a day or two longer. I keep mine in an outdoor covered large pen on the ground with a roost when I am breaking them. They stay on the roost for a couple of days mad at me for most of the time except for eating. By the third day they walk around and peck at the grass or a bit of scratch grains I throw down. They also get a bit of scrambled egg in addition to their regular feed.
