Yellow ears on hen

My first ones were second hand from sandhill.
Sandhill isn't quite a hatchery but the black leghorns from them are definatly hatchery quality at best.

Not quite a hatchery ?
Well they do hatch and sell chicks when they get around to it.
Just was thinking more mainstream hatcheries which they are far from. Especially when it comes to ordering, how you have to order, getting a ship date, actually getting a ship date that they ship on, actually getting them to ship at all, customer service or for that matter getting any kind of response from them, etc. etc.

lol Moonshiner...I had 3 orders shipped to me last spring/summer. It was not until after I had received them all I read about people having problems. There was 1 substitute due to a mink attack. With my mystery chick asst they included 1 silver Campine which is not listed on their site at all, just the gold lol

**everytime I read your post I burst out laughing!

I put in one order almost 3 years ago and it was promptly shipped. I then put in two more orders. Split it to two orders to make it easier for them.
My second order was shipped over a year later. The third they were unable to ship. Close to two years after order they sent a refund. It bounced. Now its about 7 or 8 months later and they still haven't made it right.

black leghorn would be my guess too?I have a hatchery brown leghorn with yellow ears.. i think its Just from poor breeding. Are her eggs tinted? My leghorn eith yellow ears has a slight tint in her eggs.

Oh noooo! Sorry to hear that and I have heard other experiences like yours on the shipping dates and no shipping taking place. Frustrating for sure and word of mouth reviews have impact. Hope you get it solved.
