Yellow glob on my chickens egg

Two out of six of my chickens have stared laying about a week ago. I came out today and found this egg with a yellow glob on it and yellow on it too. Their was nothin on any of the other eggs they have layed. I dont know if thats normal or something's wrong with the chicken and if its safe to eat.

Possibly yolk from another egg that got eaten?? I mean that's definitely yolk!

Softees or thin shells can be caused by new layer reproductive system (shell gland) coming on line and working out its' hiccups which sometimes become happy accidents that get discovered and enjoyed by a flock member. This is most likely what happened according to my experience, presuming a proper diet with enough calcium (included or free choice on the side) is available on a regular basis.

Sometimes the culprit may have yolk on the head somewhere. I like to keep a fake egg in each nest to deter any curiosity pecks. I have not YET had it actually cause an egg eater of solid eggs.

Thanks for the help. I do keep wooden eggs in the nesting boxes. I have bean giving crushed egg shells back could that have to do anything with it?

Not likely, most of us do that. Like I said most likely just a happy accident.

Don't crush the shell to fine as it needs to be large source as to not go through the gizzard too quickly for absorption.

Was the egg laid right there in the grass?
Check around where egg was laid, you'll likely find more 'egg mess' from a broken soft shell egg.

This isn't normal, but I'm sure its nothing to worry about, it's maybe like a 1 in 1,000,000 thing. What maybe happened is that while an ovum was about to be fermented, she somehow let another ovum go, and it never became an egg? It just followed afterward and came out like poop, and it just dried out? No clue, but if you look up chicken ovaries, you can maybe understand what im saying.

That kinda looks like dried egg yolk on the shell. Were you able to wash it off? Were there any other eggs near this one when you found it?

I was able to wash it off fairly easily. And their were no other eggs near it
