Yellow Jackets being an absolute bother

Okay. I have actually used a limb lopper more than once. I am not strong and needed all the leverage I could get! Those neck vertebrae are very hard and knotted together pretty tight! I did not want to ruin my very good kitchen shears. Looks like you did such a nice job on yours, I wondered if you had a special trick, lol. Maybe I'll get a limb lopper just for this job. 🙄

I have a dedicated limb lopper for dispatching turkeys and removing all necks. However it leaves a stump that pokes holes in the vacuum sealer bag unless I pad with butcher paper or paper towels. Anymore I part out anyway.

I'd suggest pruning shears, but they would hardly slice the muscle or skin; they'd just break the neck.

I can use a sharp knife on muscle and skin, that's no problem. It's the bones that seem to defeat my kitchen utensils, or dull them. Thanks!

10 to 15 drops of peppermint to one cup of water. It keeps them away. I use it myself. If they have a nest some of them will stay as guards until the babies are ready to leave.

You can just spray your table with it. They hate peppermint plus I think it masks the smell of the meat.

I'm trying this. I love the smell of peppermint.
