My 4 year old hen has been pooping out lots of liquidy mucusy urates with her poop lately. It started about 2 days ago and it is getting worse, the urates colour ranges from pale mustard to tan. Sometimes she just poops out the mucusy urine/urates .She is losing energy by the day, she is always very sluggish in the morning and not wanting to eat, she gradually improves as the day continues and becomes sluggish again in the evening. She also takes naps frequently. She still eats and drinks, but not as much as she used to. I can sometimes hear gurgling sounds from her abdomen. All of her eggs are soft or thin shelled if that's important. What could this be?

Can you see a vet in your area? It sounds like she may have egg yolk peritonitis or liver problems. Is her lower belly swollen? Has she lost a lot of weight? Most times we don’t know exactly what the problem is until it is too late, and we do a necropsy on them once they are gone. At her age and older, reproductive problems (EYP, cancer, liver disease, or salpingitis with lash egg material) are common causes of illness and death. Here are some symptoms of EYP:

The vets in my area are useless when it comes to chickens. Her lower belly feels fine. I weigh them regularly and her weight is the same. Here is an example if her poo
