Yellow skin on a chicken?

My pekin, who is 2 years old has been having issues and now has yellow skin? I have been told she needs vitamins but it didn’t work.

the skin is a bright yellow, about as bright as a sunflower

Cochin do have yellow skin (as do Rocks and Leghorn for example), while some breeds like Orpington or Marans have white skin.. the yellow color may be faded during higher volume laying and may be brighter after taking a break from laying. The yellow color may be exaggerated or bright if a bird has really high amounts of carotinoids (such as beta carotene) in their diet.

Are you able to post pics? Also please describe diet including treats, supplement, and free ranging.

Are the white of her eyes yellow? Are her urates in her droppings yellow.. the part that's normally white?

Aside from actually having yellow skin.. excessively yellow can be an indicator of or may be caused by liver issues or conditions.

Does your feed contain corn as main ingredient?

You can feed her milk thistle which will help with treating liver disorders.

it does have corn bits in it. We also give our chickens cracked corn in the winter.

Too much corn will be hard on their livers, try some sprouted barley instead
