yellow stained?

I have a barred cochin bantan whos neck feathers is like a stained yellow.. is it a fault?

Probably sunburned. Happens a lot with white birds. Only real cure is a molt. Shampoo with a whitening dog or horse shampoo may help a bit, or using laundry bluing in rinse water. Just be careful not to turn your white bird purple.

Yea I heard that it was caused by sun, but ibwasnt for sure. Its good then, thw guy I bought them off of was right that they are pure bred.

Could be gold leakage in the hackles. I had a splash Cochin rooster like that.

Leakage can be perfectly even too. It happens a lot with project birds. A bird from mixed color breeding comes out looking pure but when the feathers come all the way in and age a little, They show leakage. It could possibly be from the sun, or just old feathers. You'll know for sure this fall when he molts.

I have heard folks say excessive corn in their diet can cause this as well.
