Yellow Welsummer chick

I just hatched a batch of Welsummer I got off of a friend and one has hatched with pale down and barely any markings. She says she keeps her Welsummers penned seperatly and the parents do look pure Welsummer. Is this due to the parents having some other breed in their lines and the recessive genes just lines up with this guy?

Looks off Colored, I would asked the breeder if he has Wheaten Marans. That would explain the Light color being a e+/eWh cross

She does but in a separate pen. She's talking to her family to see if there was a mix up somewhere in the weeks leading up to me getting eggs

Very odd.
I don't see how it could be pure welsummer. And even odder is that that one has yellow shanks and the one that looks welsummer does not.
That would also be concerning to me.

It's a Welsumer Maran cross, it's done to bring needed egg color to a line. But by the time the correct type is achieved the egg color enhancements are very small

I might sell these all to pet homes and source a breeder with good solid lines.

The eggs were super light which also wouldnt be good as im trying to work on both type and egg colour

It's quite difficult to get the proper double laced pattern on a wheaten base
