I love rabbits; nothing is cuter or softer....but I hate cleaning cages and litter boxes, so no rabbits for me. If only they could be kept like chickens.

I get that. There's lot of animals I find adorable but would never keep as a pet for similar reasons.
Their litter boxes can be kept smell free and quit clean with horse stall pellets though. And an xpen enclosure with solid flooring is much cleaner than a cage with bedding. It's really their hay and toys that they like to make a mess of, lol

I've had rabbit,my neighbor brings food over sometimes, he didn't tell me it was rabbit!!! It tasted like chicken or pork......actually I really liked it.....but I was ashamed when I saw the wild Bunnies the next day!

Ah, I'd certainly prefer to know ahead of time what I'm eating there's little I won't try but I don't want people trying to trick me into eating stuff

They can be kept in a colony style. There are pros and cons to both cage and colony raising but I think it's interesting to see the different sides to it

Ah, I'd certainly prefer to know ahead of time what I'm eating there's little I won't try but I don't want people trying to trick me into eating stuff

I'm the same, if I'd known it was rabbit I probably wouldn't have eaten it......well I might have tried it..........but he is like a family member so we were just like hmmmmm ok. The bones were flat so we were trying to guess what is was, we thought quail maybe. But it was rabbit

They live in my pastures and turned a 100' x 200' garden into a desolate wasteland from which we, the human stewards, received approximately three pecks of zucchini and two tomatoes. The rabbits took the rest.

So, yes. Apparently I do have rabbits and I'm looking to re-home all.

We're going to need to get netting for our fruit trees next year. Blue Jays (and probably other birds and 'coon) ate our whole apple harvest! Daughter and Grandson went out to pick apples and there was not a single one left!

I have but there's no way to make a dent in the population. Also, they're soooo lean. Ugh. I quarter them, soak in buttermilk overnight, toss the quarters in seasoned flour and fry them in bacon grease to make it worthwhile.

Try grinding them with a little pork fat. Have bunny burgers instead of turkey burgers.
