Just a quick background,

I was born and raised in farm country, we raised and butchered about 100 x-cross each year and split them with my mom's sisters. So I'm no stranger to raising them.. anyway fast forward a bunch of years and now I live in AZ with an HOA.. so I'm only keeping 4 at a time for eggs. Fine by me..

Anyway that's me in a nut shell just thought I'd share.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No, I grew up raising them but didn't for a number of years

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4

(3) What breeds do you have?
One buff, and 3 leghorns

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
they are funny to watch them fight over hotdogs

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
any kind of creating, wood, metal, fabric etc..

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
wife, 2 daughters, some pet fish.. work in IT

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

Just thought it would be a fun place to check out once in a while

Thanks I appreciate it, I have not yet had a chance to read over the "what's ok and what's not ok yet".. so I'm not sure what the forum rules are on posting links and what not but I made some video's of my coop build and chicken feeder build etc.. on my youtube page same username (dezertol).. searching for it will pull it up.. but I don't want to be pushing my content here unless it's ok.. I'll read the rules tonight when I get more time. If any of you want to save me the time, let me know and I'll post direct links to the my video's.. otherwise I'll read up before I do. Regardless That's not why I signed up.. I've known about this site for a while... and have searched and searched for solutions to prevent wild birds from eating all my chicken food.. I've tried everything I could find, fake owl's, cd's on strings.. even build one of them fancy feeders that the chickens have to walk onto and they open up.. I tried for weeks to get them used to it.. but the second it moved at all they would freak out and run away.. anyway.. I finally figured out a solution that so far seems to be working.. I build a feeder box and covered the holes with some acrylic glass.. they can see the food in there and can push it open with their heads to get to the food, and the wild birds can't.. so it's a win win..

Anyway Thanks for the welcome....
