I have chickens, ducks& geese that live together24/7. When I did my introduction I just put them out on free range with my supervision. I watched them for a couple of days . There were no major problems.

So, since we raised our ducks in our city home, we are moving them to our farm. With our 15 chickens and 2 roosters. How do I introduce them properly? More importantly, I have to have them on separate feeds since the ducks aren't supposed to intake too mu h calcium like the chickens. How do I keep them separate? Only when they eat though. Hopefully the introduction goes well. Could I just move the chickens to what I feed the ducks and give them scratch feed on the side? We don't live at our farm so, not sure how we could work all that out. Should the ducks and chickens sleep together? We have a male and female duck. We are finally building our huge chicken coop that we hope to integrate the ducks and chickens in together. Our bunnies will finally have their own space. None of our animals have seen the new coop yet so it's unfamiliar territory for them. Since we only have two ducks, should we let them see it first or no? Thanks.

The chickens can eat what your feeding the ducks, I would save the chicken's egg shells and Feed them back to them. They absolutely love them and they are FREE!

As for the introduction...a couple of questions:
Do you free range your chickens/ducks? How often do you get to the farm? How do the chickens get out of the coop?
I personally would take Dawn and girlfriend to the farm as many times as possible for supervised visits, then when the time comes move everyone into the new coop at night. If possible During supervised visit you could start by letting them see each other but not touch. Then move to supervise from a distance, make sure you stand back far enough to not interfere with interactions but you can see them & get to them if needed.

How is Dawn doing on the new fed? Does he like it?

Sorry, still crying (read my other thread). The introduction and stuff went great. He loves the feed. We go to our farm every other day and the whole weekend. Let the chickens out Everytime we go.
