Okay. I've been stalking the silkie threads on here and am utterly confused.

This is dazzle, my silkie girl bantam. I am sure she is a girl because I was in the pen when she came out of a nest box and left behind a pinkish tan egg.

This is razzle, my silkie roo. At least I think he is a roo. He hasn't started crowing yet. Is it possible he is a pullet? Neither of them have much comb or waddle to compare.
Every thread I've looked at seems to be saying I have them backwards 🤷

Agree, photos will help. Likely your black one is a pullet. Do you have other dominant roosters that may have inhibited crowing?
Some silkies do not lay until close to a year of age (average is 7-9 months).

This one is definitely not photogenic 😅 had to zoom in and then crop the photo to get these. The second photo is straight on the face. The white dot is the end of her beak. I'll now reference it as a pullet. I was gendering them based on feathering, but this closeup clearly shows no comb or waddle development.
I have 2 other dominate roosters. The younger one (my profile pic, bantam Cochin) found its crow early, My LO boy (older by about 3 weeks) took another month before he found his. They co-manage the flock, although few of the ladies actually listen to them. :lau

I'm not getting to excited for eggs. Our weather has been so unpredictable I figure each one that starts this fall is bonus 🤣 So far I have 7 out of 14 (now that I can assume the black one is a pullet) laying. A couple are regular daily and others are sporadic. Still figuring out how to keep up with using them 🤷

You can always scramble them up with a little bit of water no salt or anything else added and feed them back to the chickens. I do this once a week for mine and they love it! You can even get a little gourmet and throw a few sliced tomatoes on top!😊

Looks like a pullet! 😊
