Yet another snake post....

I think some venomous snakes are protected too... beware what you do kill. If must be, I'd call someone to come pick up your venomous findings... if they are on your property, it probably means you have something on your property they want to live in (a wood pile, junk pile, etc.). Remember, you do live on their home!

Dogs, deer and many other animals kill more humans per year... I think venomous reptiles is like .016% or something; goats are equal to them too lol. Horse is really high. Dog is REALLY REALLY high. Deer is highest.

Sadly, many people kill venomous creatures, because they fear them when in reality, they're harmless (as long as you don't piss them off lol). People will run them over, kill them when they see them (in the wild or not), etc. etc. etc. That's why, I think, many are protected or endangered or whatnot...

Of course, don't go around trying to be like Steve Irwin either... venomous animals are to be respected like all mother nature's creatures!

Iono. I feel bad for the snakes too lol

Kill it I can't stand snakes egg suckers.

No they are not federally protected. Some subspecies are protected in certain states where they may be rare. An example would be the black rat here in Mass. The black rat is probably the most common ratsnake in the U.S but Massachusetts is at the northern edge of its range so it is very uncommon here and thus affored protection by the state.

No they are offered some protection in CA but are actually a very common snake sold/bred in the pet trade. The laws may of changed but I remember years ago it was legal for someone in CA to give away Cal kings for free but you couldn't sell them. I think you needed a fishing license to catch snakes there legally.

I actually relocate rat snakes that are in danger (from humans) to my backyard. I figure a rat is a bigger danger to my chickens than a snake. A snake eats about once a week, a rat eats all day every day, multiplies more quickly, carries disease and don't think rats won't attack a sleeping chicken.

once again..
i CURSE the snake killers to be over ran by ye ol' plegue carring vermin... bbbahahhahhaahhah
send all the beautiful slithery serpents to me... and the rooster suckers too.. i have way too many roosters, they can suck all they want..
