Hi everyone!

I stumbled onto this site a few weeks ago; it is a treasure trove of information and contacts! I wish I had all this information when we first raised chickens, about 20 years ago.

Then we moved to Dallas, and repressed our country ways. Now, however, we are purchasing some acreage in east Texas, and sometime in the next few years we will hopefully retire and have chickens again, along with larger gardens, rabbits, goldfish, maybe a goat...

I'm looking for friendly chickens, maybe Delawares, that can take the heat here. But part of me wants a variety of chickens-- like Dorking, Dominique, Orpington, Sussex, Wyandotte... I wonder if I could convince my husband to let me have a silkie banty or two before we leave the city? Deciding amongst all these choices is a sweet torture. :)

This is a great site, with information on coops, incubators, breeders, feed, etc. Thanks so much for assembling and keeping this great bunch of people!

Sally
