We are moving! It's a farm about 5-7 mins away from where we are right now. It has a coop already built there, a yard light that shines on the coop and reaches the barn (I have horses to), I get a bigger room, and more space for the chooks... *takes a breath*
So I can raise more babies next spring! I've got some locals already who are interested in buying chooks from me next year. Also, there's another shed right next to it that I can make into another coop!
also, my gramps wants me to raise some layers for him to! Needless to say, we are moving in before Christmas, which is probably going to be stressful, lol, but it'll be worth it! My chooks and horses won't be at my grandparents anymore, they'll be 30 feet away from me instead of 3-4 miles, lol I was originally going to choose the bigger basement bedroom. But I let my sis have it because I can sees the coop and barn out of the window of the smaller one, lol. it also means that I might raise a heifer calf for milk if my dad lets me. also, I can let my dog have pups in the springtime to. If she does, I'll be selling them for 200-250 dollars. They'll be purebred cattle dogs. also, back to the coop, the space in between the two sheds was originally a run, the previous owner told us, and with further examination, he was telling the truth. We just have to put up new fencing and my babies can run around outside with a shade spot, and a sunning area as some may know, my grandpa doesn't let chickens free range in the summer due to his garden, but now, they'll be able to go outside when ever! And more safely then they would have at my grandparent's house. I'm so EXCITED!
