Yikes, new chick with infected eye....help

New chick born yesterday with an eye that looks pasted shut, cleaned it with saline and cotton ball, had some kind of thin "snot like" goo in it. as soon as i cleaned it off it could open it and see, but seems to gue back up in no time, now the other eye looks like its doing it too... anyone know what this is?? I don't have any eye salve to put on it right now, have to go to town if thats what I should use.

Feed stores usually carry ophthalmic antibiotic ointment. If you have plain Neosporin ointment (not cream) you can also use this.
