YO GEORGIANS! :)

The next silkie has hatched himself out now, and he's also white. And thankfully, he's already learned how to flip himself back over, so we're good there!

He says he was trying to help, and he was curious. He also said those that are in the photo were already dead in the shell. I dont know. He just told me that he won't mess with my hatches again so we will see! I asked him how did he think I felt walking in there and seeing that. I'm still ****** though!

Well the class was about getting certified to sell eating eggs off personal property (at farmers' markets, etc.) so there wasn't anything about fertility and developing. Still pretty decent and a certificate from the state ain't a bad thing to have.

Are we still allowed to sell eggs on our personal property without a candling license?

Kind of long story, but back in 2000 or so, I owned a Bed and Breakfast and I got some laying hens. I wanted to serve my own eggs to my guests and the health department didn't like that, so they sent me to the GA Egg Commission or the GA Dept of Ag? I don't remember. They had never heard of such a situation and so they decided it was best to just have me do the candling certification (at that time, they apparently were not offering it to the general public because I remember I kept hearing them say how unusual this situation was.) Back then, if I remember correctly, the rule was that you could sell 35 dozen eggs per week on your property. But the B&B/Health Dept. thing made my situation all complicated.

So why am I asking the above question? Well, I moved from GA to CA to NC and back to GA. When I called to see if they had my certification on file still, I was told that they just destroyed those records LAST YEAR. Ugh. So I THINK my candling certificate is in the attic in my ex-husband's house in NC. I was planning to just go up there and dig through boxes until I find it, but if they have classes nearby fairly regularly, I'll just redo the darn thing. I remember most of the info, just not the weights for each size. HOWEVER, if I can sell at home without a certificate, I'll totally go that route.

Ok, this place needs to liven up .... A LOT. I am sitting here in the doctor's office waiting on GAM to have a spine transplant and I am bored!
Spine transplant, haha!
Well, I'm getting ready for work. So I can't help much!
