YO GEORGIANS! :)

I thought I would ask here before putting them on craigslist!

Would anyone like 7 hatching eggs, now, for free. mix of Bantam Cochin and Silver Lakenvelders?

Got them today for the easter hatch-along and can't fit these in the bator!

I was wrong, I have 10 extra eggs that need a home!

OH!! I wish I could!!! No incubator, and I promised myself I was done this spring. :/

Physical therapy. Seriously, as weird as it sounds, lol.

Take it out and for about an hour or so, hold him with his leg tucked under him PROPERLY. Stretch the leg out, and then bend it back under him properly. Stretch it out in front of him once, behind him once, and then fold it back up. During the hour, do the stretching occasionally. And then see how he walks on it after that.

The leg is twisted out instead of straight. I tied his legs together under him with some ribbon, with about an inch between his feet, so he can walk. He seems to be ok for now. We'll see.

Oh No!!!! Did I break this thread!!?? Nobody has been on it for over 3 hours!

Went to TSC. Got a dozen "leghorns" to finish covering this guy's order and two.... silver "assorted" bantams. Yeah I caved.
Two bags of each type of feed, one bag of grit, and three square (okay rectangle) bales of hay.

Came home, started cleaning out one of the brooder playpens, only to find that the "liner" in it harbored lots and lots of moisture, and old food, and thus, mold. Yep, liner got tossed. Bleached the rest down, and waiting for it to dry in the sun before moving babies back in. Tomorrow I'll get the one with the slightly older chicks.

Two chicks hatched while I was gone - an easter egger and what looks like a white silkie. So I had to move everybody around to put them in the brooder, and move some of the bigger ones out.

After cleaning the playpen though, I found out that several chicks needed.... a bath! So much poop and wet food got stuck to butts, wings, HEADS, feet, and everything in between! So I've got a basket in my room now with several wet chicks, a towel to line it, and a hair dryer blowing on all of them. They're all in one big chirping heap!

So, a busy day for me. I just now slowed down since 9am, but still haven't stopped!

Stack'em! You'll have a few clears and quitters which will free up room later. I'm stuffing 7doz eggs into 1.5 incubators. Tetris time!!!!!

That's what I meant to tell you before I left. I have a total of about 4 trays open, and on Sunday the goose egg incubator should be open too. The only disadvantage is the goose egg incubator does NOT have a turner in it. But there's room, at least.

Busy indeed!

I've got my month-olds outside in the tractor today. Tried to give them a piece of banana, but they don't get it! it's so funny to watch them look at it, stick their beaks to the point of almost pecking it, and then run away, one at a time. :lau
