YO GEORGIANS! :)

Thx Mrsd! Lulu is getting striping on her little wings but Pepper's wings are solid black...they are supposed to be Barred Rocks just didn't know if that was norm for as young as they are or not? I haven't had this breed before.

You said Pepper is four days older, so the size difference would just be age. But solid black wings tells me she may be another breed.

OR, if her wings do start to develop bars, then Pepper would be a hen, and Lulu would be a roo.

Barred rocks do develop stripes on their feathers right away. But males usually get a white, white, black pattern, where as females are just white black white. In other words, the white on males is twice as thick.

What I don't see though, is a light spot on Pepper's head. That white spot on their head (as chicks) indicates the barring gene. So if she hasn't got one and never had one, she is a different color and maybe a different breed.

Good morning everyone! I woke up to a rooster sleeping RIGHT beside my head! I put him in a "safe" spot on the far side of the bed where he probably wouldn't fall off. But I guess he really wants to be beside another living thing, because he moved - completely blinded by the dark and the unfolding gauze - to be right beside my pillow.

He was still standing though. He wouldn't lay down and actually sleep. So I put him in my lap to check him over, and as I checked my phone's messages, he laid down for the first time all night. I think he's going to turn in to a giant baby with all of this attention!

This is the daughter I am going to visit! And!!!!!! We just found out our other daughter from NYC is driving down with our new grandson! I got to see him in Jan, but DH hasn't ever seen him before! Will be great fun! And my daughter is having a pie party! Everyone (her friends) is bringing a different pie! Some are bring dessert pies, but some are bringing dinner pies! Pot Pie, Pizza Pie, Spaghetti Pie? It will be so much fun! There goes the diet! But, it's only once, right????
Your daughter is lovely. And don't worry about your diet. We won't tell. It's just for one day ;)

So as I sit here watching the sunset and The Muppet Show I am pondering a dilemma with which I find myself faced.... Do I pay someone $12 to ship me some eggs or do I plan a nice drive to north Ga to pick them up in person? They are in Cherry Log up around Ellijay. Beautiful area to visit but it's a whole lot more than $12 worth of diesel for that trip. Decisions decisions.

Make the drive. You know you want to.

First baby hatched during the night. I have 4 more externally pipped and 1 starting to zip. My temp and humidity are still perfect. I'm kind of thankful that I have stuff to do today. I will be forced to leave them alone!
