YO GEORGIANS! :)

So I looked at the Black Swans (can't remember actual name for them) while I was picking up my goslings. Now I can't decide if I want them or the big white ones that are the "story book" swans. I don't know their proper name either. So I was looking in BST to see who was selling what in the way of swans. But I will just be boogered if I can figure out the search function for this place. I get that whole list of posts, products, items, blah blah.... If anyone sees ads for swans let me know. I want to know what kind of money I need to start saving up. I love their looks but I am also sure they will protect our pond from unwanted wild geese next year.

Edited: Ok, so it's the white mute swan I like so much. $1,200 a pair. But word has it they are capable of hurting you when they attack. I have sought the opinion of a resident swan expert here at BYC. We'll see what they have to say before I make my decision.

Probly around 6.  He's just right there at that 3 way stop on 101 going into Villa Rica.

I'll ask him and let you know......

Okay I asked him. I forgot about church. They have to be there at 6:30. Could you go earlier?

LOL poor girls! Tell BK that since that one floods you will need another one built asap! How did the egg talk go?

I'll get right on that! :p And it went well enough.. Considering all the other drama (excrement) he put up with (cleaned up) from my animals (dog) today, it went well.

;)

Looks like a mutt. There's part of a speckled sussex there, with the spots on the belly. But then the back has more of a barring pattern - the type normally on a partridge rock. A speckled sussex rooster will have that kind of pattern on his saddle and hackle feathers, but he's too young to be growing those, and yours has it on his wings.

TSC sells mutts though?

Horrible little bator and some user error on my part and we are down from 10 eggs to 5 eggs and I am fairly sure one of those 5 have stopped so really 4 eggs. I knew we wouldn't get more than 2 chicks, but at this point I will be shocked if we get even 2! Kids are oing to be so sad if none hatch!

Every once in a while there seems to be one out there. Their Ameraucanas are definitely mutts. But the others are USUALLY purebred. But that's the problem with big hatcheries, too. They don't care too much about quality, so if a bird has mixed-breed bloodlines, but LOOKS like the breed they are trying to get, they'll use it.
