YO GEORGIANS! :)

I lost one of my buffs yesterday. I knew something had happened by the way the chickens were acting. AlI found was a small pile of feathers. I'm not sure what can carry off a full grown hen in the middle of the day unless it was a stray dog. It looks like I'll have to supervise all the free ranging from now on. I hate it because they love to get out.

I am looking for a bantam hen. Anyone in middle GA have one they would like to rehome? Must be young adult or older.

Situation is this, I have three standard sized 8 week old chicks and one 7 month old OEG Bantam Hen. She gets along fine with them BUT as they get older I would really like to have a friend/companion for her about her own size.

I am not concerned about breed, just size, gender and health! I am afraid to go to auctions and just buy a bird because mine all came from the same NPIP breeder and I do not want to risk taking in an unknown bird that may be carrying disease. An older bantam that was kept by someone that is careful with their flock would be ideal. I do not want a bird from someone that goes to auctions and then "flips" birds constantly to make a bit more money.

Anyone have ideas? Craigs list has nothing (except pairs and I do not need another roo, already have an Ameraucauna roo). Anyone know nice Bantam keepers that may wish to rehome a hen? I am happy to pay for her but do not want to start over with chicks. Chickens have a newly built coop and also a 40 x 40 foot run with avian netting.

This thread moves fast so please also pm me if someone has something, I may not see the post.
