YO GEORGIANS! :)

Well we have to figure out something. The chicks and ducklings are doing ok but the geese are my favorites and I can't deal with these unexplained deaths. The male we bought is doing good at least.
Wish I could help more. I'm pretty new to this whole thing. Never had an injury or death so far so its kinda hard for me to know much.

Well ****. The little cpg that hatched died a few minutes ago. WTH is going on? Are they allergic to pine shavings or something?

I M O, The pine shavings wouldn't have anything to do with it. Was it warm enough? Had enough water at all times to dip its beak in? I know with ducks, they need extra niacin. So sorry you lost that one,

She is not as fat as I would like - she has some other "issues" as we'll but I put a little moisture in her feed to make it easier to consume. I also give her canned (salt free) corn kernels and mealworms. I also bought some vitamins but she hates taking them so for now I'm holding off. She is the sweetest girl - lap hen who follows me around by following my voice. Love my Yuna

I know u already know this probably but:
1.Are they panting with mouths open or cheeping loudly (check temp and make sure no breezes can get it)
2. Make sugar water I put like 1/4 cup sugar fill the rest up with water in my mason jar waterer - dip their beaks in it ASAP
3. Check their little butts and see if they are pooping literally watch each one lol no buy really make sure they are. If not or unsure put their butts in warm water and rub it ( how many people did I just gross out) but the point is make sure they aren't pasted up
4. I'm no expert but I would put an anti coccidia in their sugar water too like a tiny bit of co-rid (coccidia common in chicks - corid powder at tractor supply for cattle- it's amporilluim same ingredient in medicated feed but sometimes that may not be enough)
if they had any access to dirt or could have gotten it....

Describe their symptoms if possible how they acted before they died?

No clue but I hope no more die...

I wouldn't think it could be worms cuz they are hatchlings but shoot I donno if u should worm them or what.

Again I've only been doing chickens for a yr so I am not as smart as these others on here

We really don't need any more animals waking us up all night long. Dogs and cats are enough! It is funny though. I bet he's working on his strut already!
yeah we have 3 dogs, 2 cats (who are both afraid of the tiny crowing chick), a turtle, 7 RIR hens, a GLW roo, 10 GLW chicks (hopefully no roos), and 4 RIR chicks. And 8 eggs today is day 21, and 60 eggs to set for the Cinco de Mayo HAL. Not to mention our 4 kids 6,4,4,and 5 months.
He is actually. He's one of the biggest, first too roost and very gentle and sweet. He cuddles under my hair on my shoulder

Awwww. :love
