My Broodies included a Silkie, a Silkie mix, a Welsummer, an Isbar, an EE, and a mixed breed hen. My friend has Cochins that go broody. She also has some 2-3 week old Cochin chicks for sale.

I really like Cochins but I had my heart set on some Silkies. :c I'll keep looking around and if I can't find any then I will settle for another breed.

Yes. I even posted on the 24-Auction Thread that I'm not offering Sumatra eggs anymore this year, because they are slowing down. Maybe it's the cold snap, or the heat wave prior to that, but either way, I'm only getting about 1-2 eggs a day from them now.

I see two problems with this. First, TSC kinda makes it their point to tell people about salmonella. It's usually all over their Chick Days website, and posted in the store. So these dumbasses who are coming down with this illness "should have known better".

But on the other side of the fence, Mt Healthy Hatcheries doesn't sound like it's doing a very good job in educating THEIR customers. And that kinda makes their entire name redundant, huh?

Me too (three, four?). I had purchased five blue silkie chicks from McMurray to go along with the black hen I got from abmaddox, and the two whites I hatched out last year. Then the adults got killed this spring by predators, and the babies all died :-(

But they are replacing three of the blue silkies on Monday, and I've been expecting at least a dozen silkie/sizzle eggs from an auction on here from over two weeks ago. Plus Mrsdszoo is going to sell me some of her silkie eggs too.

I'll get them back up and running eventually. It'll just take time.

Holy moley, they're offering frizzle bantam PULLETS!

I've never known ANYWHERE to offer bantam pullets, period! Much less the highly-sought FRIZZLE!

That would end up being a two hour trip for me. D: It's so sad that I can't find any local silkies.
