YO GEORGIANS! :)

Little yellow one may be from my Isbar. She is the only one that would be that color???? All the other hens are dark. (Well, except for my NN, but this chick is not a NN and the hen has the double NN gene so all her babies will be NN. I think there may be two eggs under there from my NN.) HOPE! The darker one looks like from an EE! Has puffed cheeks! Can't wait for more! Make them pop out faster!

Sweet! They'll be glad in the long run..

And @Flowerbh .. "May" come in upside down? Is it possible for them to keep changing position and pip again in the correct spot? I was wondering that..

Probably not at this stage....too big to move around. I've had chicks hatch fine that way, but they were laying on their sides. I wasn't doing the egg carton thing at that time. I love the egg carton thing! That is just the easiest and best way to go IMO! Just watch it.

Squeeeee!! Different colors.. I LOVE a good variety!!

Yea, they should all be different.....all my hens are different breeds. And some should have their daddy's crest. Some could be frizzled. Some NNs. Let's just hope more hatch. This could go on until Monday! I feel like a grandma waiting for her grandkids to be born!

I sure am. I did have the one wrong-ended last weekend but it wasn't quite so low and I only saw a little yolk yellowing on the membrane. This time I can see faint veins when it pushes against the membrane, which it hasn't broken through yet.

Watching... Watching... lol

It amazes me that baby chicks can hatch and breathe under a full grown broody! Since I saw the two new babies earlier today, I haven't seen either them or any new ones! But, I can hear them! I was able to get one of the empty shells and saw that it was egg #3. So, the yellow chick was indeed from my Isbar! I guess I am just going to have to be patient until my broody is ready to show me her chicks!

After looking around the farm and taking an inventory of sorts, it looks like we're going to have quite a few feathered friends to bring to Cliff's TSC shindig.

Pilgrim Geese (ganders)
Pekin Ducks (ducks and drakes)
Silver Laced Wyandottes (roosters ... pea comb and single)
a rumpless roo of unknown origin
a gray/blue Silkie (roo)
and a partridge in a pear tree

(May be adding more as we get closer ... 1/2 silkie, 1/2 god only knows what roo might be coming along.)

ETA - almost forgot that I'll have some BCMs to bring, too.

What do you mean by negative? Are they not wanting the event or do they not think there will be much of a turn out? Maybe they just need a hug.... kinda like some of the people on the crazy chicken auction thread.
