Yeah, I see chicks in my future!!!I crammed 54 eggs from my chickens into a 42 slot incubator because I knew all the eggs wouldn't be fertile. (I have one adult roo to about 25 laying hens). So, at 10 days, I candled them. I removed 22 non fertile eggs. That left me with 32. Right now, 26 have hatched and 4 more are pipping and two are still none active.
A bunch of us who are hatching right now are planning on selling them at the chicken event in McDonough on Feb 14!
If you bring me a NN frizzled roo i will sell my showgirl roo at one of the swaps gladly lol if it's a hen then even better.Cliff, my last blue egg just hatched and it's a NN! It apparently has the double gene because it is super naked! It is a two tone, right now, yellow and black. Don't know if it will be frizzled or a male or female, but it is fabulous! Can't wait until it dries up some and I will try to get a photo. BTW, what sex did you want? Male or female or either? I think you were also wanting a splash. But, I hatched one and we can see what it grows out to look like over the next 10 days!
Flower that's awesome!! Cannot wait for pics. And I also laughed at your hubs looking so "knowledgable".. Mine acts like he could care less most of the time.. But you let US find a wayward chickeneer I'm TSC and suddenly he starts coming out with all this absorbed info.. And I'm all, he listens! He really listens!!Well, I am really excited. Looks like I ended up with 30 chicks out of 32! I candled the last two eggs. One looks dead and the other is iffy. I will keep it in until tomorrow! I can't wait to put them in the brooder tomorrow and get to play with them all! I will then get to see all the fun colors I ended up with! Will post pics tomorrow!
