YO GEORGIANS! :)

Oh My God! WTH!

This is obviously not Flower posting this. I think I am referred to as a DH! It should be DA, as I have let this get way out of control.

The disease Chickenitis is spreading rapidly. I woke up this morning to find we now have 5 Incubators running inside my home. There has to be at least 80+ eggs in there. But of course when I confronted "Flower", she said, Well, you can't count those because I'm selling those and then there is this woman who is going to come get some others, but she doesn't know here name.. This disease is at a new all time epidemic proportion. Chicken Math strikes again!

I am contacting the CDC this morning to alert them of this activity and praying that they will aid me in my fight to find the cure before it spreads in further.

I will have a table at the next swap meet for counseling and also hope to have the antidote for all of you that are inflicted.

As a footnote, can anyone tell me why her chicken license that arrived this week is in the name of Bear Ridge Lodge. I thought we were a vacation rental, not a Poultry Operation!

flowerbh what is wrong?

Once again, this is not Flower, just her poor husband!

For anyone new on here that does not know what this disease is, I will try to explain.

3 years ago, one of the dumbest things I have ever done in our 42 years of marriage, I bought Flower 4 baby chicks. I built her a custom built 4 x 4 coop with exterior hatch boxes, and run underneath. A few weeks later, the disease struck! She said that if I would expand her coop by 4 more feet and get her 4 more chicks (searing on our marriage) she would never ask for more and be happy. HUGE MISTAKE! I expanded her coop and then without a Rooster out there, the flock magically started to increase. Being the DH, I added another 12' x 20' play area. Did I also mention that during this time I built her a Chicken Tractor, a Chicken Taxi a Brooder, a Juvenile coop, a remote controlled lighting system, a 300' playground, an automated watering system. Oh, I just remembered the additional wing of 8' x 12' with 6 more nesting boxes and of course it is predator proof. This thing is now a Chicken Condominium!

I can go on, but I think you can easily see, that this is a disease! We have now over 40 and 80 more in incubators.

Good morning! lololol~

You're a good hubby :)

My chicks have arrived!! Oh my goodnes..could this box of chicks be any cuter! Question for yall...can I put these new chicks in with the three copper marans that are a little older? I don't want them to kill any of the new chicks. They were pecking them but then again the baby chicks were pecking each other too.

I bought them from a guy who said his bunch of chicks I bought were a few days apart but I'm thinking a week old? Can you see them in the pic? One is starting to get feathers.

I can verify that this disease is real, and tragic.

I think I must have caught it when my sister-in-law picked up a few chicks some years ago and it reamained dormant until very recently when I realized that I can actually HAVE chickens in my area. I set out to get 3-5 hens for eggs only (and convinced my partner to sign onto this endeavor through his love of all things natural/organic).

So, when I got my chicks I factored in the idea that some would probably pass (chicks are very fragile after all, and it's my first time) and the fact that the chicks I was getting were straight run... and well, maybe a few bantamweights just for fun...
and now I have SIXTEEN chicks, all of which are fat and happy, and over half of which are "useless" bantams... and then I realized that I only have cream and brown egg layers and that makes for a very boring basket... so I'm on the lookout for EEs, Oliver's, and Marans... and of course I'll have to get a few of each to ensure at least one is a hen...

The struggle is real!
