YO GEORGIANS! :)

If u get a good thermostat they work great. I use one of my home made ones as a hatcher. One of my next projects is going tobe a larger cabinet I guess 300 at a time is just not enough.

You better be saving me a female chocolate runner!!! And, I love my Exchequer Leghorn from you! Lays nice big eggs already!

I am getting excited about one of the chicks I kept from my hatches! It hatched from a Swedish Flower Hen, but it has puffed cheeks so I think the dad was Hulk Hogan (before I sold him)! Hogan was an Olive Egger! The chick is developing colors like her mom! So pretty!

Dad

Mom

She's already getting Mom's coloring!

Don't you live a long way from there? I think Rocky should go get a few dozen and bring'em down. They're practically in his back yard.

I'm working on it. I sent them an email, but no reply yet. The weekend of the 2nd is perfect for me, since April 29th is hatchday, and I'll have incubator space again. I just hope they'll still have some then.

I was going to suggest a straw to get the water back out but a small medicine dropper is even better! No incubator water in the mouth that way

When I did LOs only 2 of 14 hatched. Others were fully developed so I think I drowned them with the humidity. I was trying out a higher humidity so...yeah, that isn't good. Next hatch was 8 BO out of 17, a couple were 2nd week quitters but the rest fully developed. My broody hatched 8 from 16 eggs after I told dh I give up on incubating if I'm killing them with humidity problems. Broody's hatch being 50/50 gave me incentive to try again so 35 developers due the 26th. Keep trying then if all else fails just sell eggs!

I use a sponge. This has made things so much simpler. You can use the sponge as well as filling reservoirs to increase the humidity or without filling reservoirs for lower humidity. You can play with the size of sponge to fine tune things. It takes time to get it right and you'll never get it perfect but that's what keeps it so much fun.

Hopefully you'll get the eggs. But even if you don't, come anyway. You can bring your grandson and he can drown a few worms catching bream.

I'm in, so we're halfway there. Now to work on the DW. I checked my email between posts and they said they were out for now but should have more in two weeks. That would be about right. Apparently,we aren't the only folks wanting guinea eggs.
