YO GEORGIANS! :)

Me? No cows here, we had cows when i was a kid, but as an adult I've never had cows.

Good deal if she's prego, soinds like you might have found you a BOGO cow deal
with your experience with cows is it worth it? were they dairy? I need opinions, here is the deal, they are going to test to see if she is pregs, there is an established customer base, for the milk, yogurt, butter and buttermilk, I was going to add cheese, mozz and cream cheese, her feed is 35 every 2 weeks, her milk pays for her feed, I will have to build a pen and barn etc. never had a cow. Ok your turn, will it be too much for one person?

anyone and everyone please chime in.

I agree about the Licenses. If people come to your property and buy eggs or chicks or ducks, no license is needed. But, if you take your eggs, chicks, etc. off your property to sell, you need the license.

And, the little bantam in the front looks like a Serama. They are the worlds smallest chickens.

I just ordered some chicken Saddles because my rooster is just so big for my girls, he is tearing up their feathers! I only have 2 roosters with 32 hens!

And, I started a diet today!

where did you order the saddles from?  I need to get some
I know that you could order the saddles at www. my pet cbicken.com

LOL I haven't had cows since being an adult, and don't remember anything on the ones we had when I was a kid, except they wouldn't let us in the barn when the neighbor brought the bull over, or when the calf was born......so I can give you absolutely NO ADVICE other than for a brisket, cook for about an hour a pound on the smoker at 265-275 degrees......

Its a sad day here, something attacked my birds through the fence, and killed 2 guineas, a grey boy and the blue girl

so what would just eat the head? raccoon? since it couldn't pull the whole bird through the fence. I'm on predator duty tonight I will sit up all night because I know it will be back but I have a 17 with its name on it. Oh and had to stitch up anothers neck and he is now in the hospital ward recovering he will stay there a few days to watch for infection

I'm so sorry

Big hugs!

Anyone in the Atlanta area with Cream Legbar hatching eggs for sale? I'm trying to get in a hatch before fall. I'd love to set a dozen this weekend if possible.

She died last night. Not sure what happened. Her comb was a healthy bright red, too, so I am thinking that it was a sudden thing. We had a huge storm yesterday and things got blown around. She could have gotten hurt, scared (to death) or she could have been bitten by a copperhead or she could have been egg bound. Just not sure. No, I didn't autopsy her. Had appointments this morning so we just buried her.

oh no! poor thing! I'm sorry you lost her.
