YO GEORGIANS! :)

Careful what you wish for = today's lesson. I got my injection and **** if it doesn't hurt like a B! Lol i can't move it at all & a slight wiggle of my fingers makes me want to crawl out of my skin! Wasn't expecting this. She said it'd hurt for couple days. I hope that's all. I'm ready for something to give, even if the relief from it is only temporary. She said it only lasts a few weeks. Wanted to do a different procedure but ins doesnt cover it. We did the steroid today to buy me a few weeks of comfort while I scavenge up the funds to do the other thing. I was very intrigued & it sounds much better than the steroids. Oh , the plus side is that she's actually pretty cool after all. Maybe she was just having a bad day when I saw her thefirst time. I have PT scheduled for feb 8.

I managed to get a good bit done on my next run. Building it out of pallets, going to wrap it all in fencing, go over the top with fencing and cover part of it, maybe all of it and wrap in plastic until spring.

it'll be painted come spring when it's warm enough. Still have to get the fencing, build the gate, the nest boxes and a roost. It's 8' 6" x 20, and I will be able to divide it if I need to. I'm going to put the purebred AMs in here and let the barnyard mixes stay in the other one
looking good! I might use this idea, if you don't mind.

I showed this to my loving husband and he acted almost intrigued.. When it's done we will have to come see and you'll have to express to him how easy and great it is.. :lau

sophia's recovering really well but with one minor concern. The only blood loss was what drainer through her sinuses, out her one nostril. I was able to clean up what was cisible on ourside, but it is very clear that she's having difficulty with breathing through her nostrils while eating & especially drinking. I put a little VetRx on her beak but it only helps a little if at all. Anyone have an idea what to do? Don't want a secindary infection happening.

Awesome!!

absolutely! If I'd went off the side of the other outbuilding, I could have made it taller, but that would have required a bit more work getting the side of the building ready. It's an old pole shed and there are some pretty good gaps around the floor in places. I'm liking the way this is looking so far

Building this off the top of my head/on the fly. It helps that I did get the pallets for free, but I'll be splitting the chickens up and will have less than $200 in this. The most expensive part of it's the fence

this evening I took down the divider between my 17 week olds and the others. Most of the adults were already in on the roost, and it took the 'kids' a few minutes to venture out. 3 of the adult Am hens were still out and they of course had to try to establish some 'order'. The AM/Leghorn cross rooster wasn't having any of it though, he backed one of them down quick and the others took off. Now if he just doesn't get himself beat up too bad by the big boy AM rooster before I can get the other coop finished tomorrow, LOL

here's a few pics:
Leghorn/Am cross rooster, He has a bit of color on him, he's already bigger than my adult hens and is looking like he'll turn out real pretty
you can see the AM/Australorp mix hen there too

here's the dainty little AM splash hen, she's tiny standing next to the others

and saving the best for last, the AM splash rooster. He is going to be a real beauty!

Well still taking in and caring for some neglected starving chickens and found that I have a problem with one of them. The area around her vent / annuls is all red and minor swelling and not sure of the cause or best treatment. Going to try cleaning the area, use some prep H and wound spray and hope I can get it healed, still have her in isolation and hope soon to get her with the rest of the flock.
