YO GEORGIANS! :)

So I have 14 little chicks, about a week old.
10 have tails, about half an inch long, the others have no visible tail.
Didn't I read something about hens having longer tail or wing feathers at just a few days?

So I couldn't wait and candled I tonight instead of waiting til day 7 (tomorrow) found two blood rings and lots that look like they may be infertile or just got too scrambled in shipping to ever develop, and then this odd thing.

What's going on here? Good/not good?

No idea but let us know if you figure it out, could above it be a black eye? (the black dot?) I hope it hatches.

Well it looks like somebody in the Silkie/Ameraucana pen is getting things done. I threw a few Silkie eggs in the incubator to help stabilize the temps with the few eggs I had in there before ... and 3 of them are showing veins.

I'm gonna venture a guess of, "not good".

Very odd. You'd think with something like that there would be no development. I'd watch it closely. You don;t want an egg blowing up in your incubator. Icky.

Could be a worm. If a chicken has an extreme case of worms, they can pass into the eggs. I read about it this week when I was searching about worming my chicken.
