I actually was just up at TS yesterday and was very happy with prices, stock and personal.
I went to Lawson's and they are closed down... I will miss them.
I want 2 chicks and TS won't sell just 2 even if they do get the breeds I want.
I'm still looking for someone who might have a buff Orpington or a black leghorn... I wanted and EE but not sure now that I've learned that they might not be the best layers.
Any ideas on where I could find those 2 breeds that I mentioned ?

Yeah that bugs me, the minimum chick purchase thing. Although I think it's a good rule for someone buying their first chicks, for those of us who are just adding to broodersvalready going it hinders things.

Ladd's in Cville, when they start getting chicks in, does not have a minimum purchase. However they usually don't know what they're getting until they are shipped in my experience.

Have you ever been to Morning Glory Farm between Rockmart and Cedartown? I highly recommend her. Easy to find too.. If you turn left onto 278 leaving Dallas TSC, go through Rockmart and about another five minutes they're on the right, right on the highway. I told hubby we're due a trip over there just to visit and ogle at her breeds. :)
 
Oh- and this can brighten any irritable afternoon.. Look at all the EGGS I got today!!

The two Brahma eggs far left (nasty looking ones) were both dropped randomly in the dirt run, so those are two new girls for sure! And three is the most bantam eggs I've ever gotten in one day.. Today I got four! One COULD have been from yesterday because I found it in the shavings outside the laying box (it was dark last night when I collected).. Either way it's a great egg day for my girls. :clap

When we would call from work last year, they would say they didn't know until they picked them up from the post. Maybe they're using a new hatchery this year? Or maybe just THAT person didn't know, lol.

Or even if the same hatchery, they've decided to be better prepared? Dunno.

I'll need to be making that drive a couple of times, I think.
