Y'all. These COCHIN juveniles are MOTHERING my chicks! :love

Just before I snapped this, there was a little head popping out from the darker colored one's wing, just like a broody hen. :gig

Ok! I have two broodies set up in their own coop. Question...do I block them out of the run and put food and water in the coop but away from the nest boxes? Or, do I give them access to the run and put the food and water in the run?

If they're like mine just keep the food and water close by. She didn't care about going outside, just a quick jump down to poop, eat and drink and right back to the eggs. She lost quite a bit of weight. Good luck!

Got my phone fixed today. The replacement screen is better than the original! Scratch proof tempered glass and all! $80, but better than a new phone.

Took the chicks away frim broody mama #1, put her back in the coop with the other AMs. Any time I go up there she bows up at me, LOL but went up to throw some veggie scraps out and she was in the nest. She better be careful I'll put her tail back on some more eggs!

It never hurts to ask... I have extra cockerels (as does everyone I'm sure)! Free if anyone here wants.
2 Isbars
1 Large fowl Cochin from Show quality stock
Black copper Marans from show quality stock
And a black purebred Ameraucana (he's a little older, 9 months) he's over my 14 hens with 100% fertility
I'm NPIP!

Aww. I do want an isbar. So many of the others tempt me, but I have a use for an Isbar I think...
