Yes!!!! It's not on my options anymore. I hate new byc

I had one hatch this morning, too!!! It was Katsdars! Mine is a blAck chick with a small white dot on its head. Blackish skin. I had only been watching only the small eggs do this one hatching was a surprise.

Chiming in as another grumpy chicken lady here. My Black Australorps are turning out to be BSLs.
Grrr. :barnieI was already upset the dang seller didn't bring 10 black chicks so, I got a couple other breeds I hadn't planned on foisted off on me because my 9-year-old was with "picking them out" at the meeting place. I checked their legs when we got home and they had seemed the right color black and not yellow. Now the pullets are definitely developing brown neck feathers though. :hit

So, after none of our eggs hatched, my plan of buying the chicks to get the breeds I dreamed of has gone south. Thankfully, Miss Cynthia is practically a neighbor and she has the partridge pattern I fell in love with on her Brahmas.

nightmare. ugh. so sorry.

Thanks, Liv. At least BSLs have decent egg production, even if they won't breed true. The bird my daughter has become attached to looks like it may be an Easter egger, since it's developing "sideburns", unless there's another breed that sports that look? That little brown chick got mixed into the SS the seller was carrying (they had EEs with them, but I had really wanted to stay away from bantams).
