Sorry but this totally reminded me of my fave sleepy pic EVER. From last year <3It cracks me up how they sleep ... goofy things look dead as often as not.
Oh okay. I really need to read up on Marans since I'll have 'em & all.Splash Marans
Nope ... there are French and there are English.Oh okay. I really need to read up on Marans since I'll have 'em & all.![]()
And you just answered another one of my questions I've been wondering- are they all French? Apparently not!
I'm hoping he makes it safe too.
I just went outside and moved the heat lamp from the chick pen to the big chicken pen. None of them have "found" it yet, but two of the hens are sitting in the nest boxes like they want to lay an egg, but it's too cold to push it out! LOL! And there isn't a single egg already in the nest, so I'm pretty sure all of my hens are either on strike today, or about to be!
The heat lamp SHOULD convince them to roost in the pen tonight as well. The little dummies have been staying out in the freezing rain, not seeking shelter. I fed them under the carport, but only two of them bothered to come check it out. The rest stood out in the rain and looked at me like I was stupid. Silly birds.
The ENTIRE net over the pen is one big hard sheet of ice. I'm surprised it hasn't fallen, but I guess those poles are positioned just right, that the extra weight is actually keeping them ON the poles.
Where are you located? I would like to add a few Marans to my crew.Nope ... there are French and there are English.
