YO GEORGIANS! :)

Thanks all, it seems the vote goes to hanging feeders. Sounds like winner to me. Big news on the construction site. The coop has all it's walls (and human door) up and painted, the roof is shingled/capped and no leaks inside. he best news is even though this build is all by my wee hands Hubby said he can't wait for the chicks now, he has the bug. Of course watching chicken run last night sort of put a damper on the ole homesteading idea of when they stop laying and become chicken noodle soup. After a few minutes into the movie he said great now we can never have a chicken dinner. We will just have more pet mouths to feed lol.

I only use feeders outside, with water in the coop. I was told food in the coop isn't needed but having water in there keeps it from freezing. I put em away at dark n let them out about 7 am and they get very excited to eat lol

Woo hoo! Cobb county finally passed the ordinance saying that you can have hens on under 2 acres of land! I'm no longer a law breaker! ;)

They stayed in the roosting box yesterday their first full day outside, today they are loving their new home :)

I have a question I realize it shouldn't be posted here but anyways..I ordered some chicks from cackle I got a email Monday the 25th at about 8:00 saying they were shipped but I haven't received them yet I was wondering would they still be ok if they arrived tomorrow..I'm just a little worried I don't want my babies to arrive dead.

Thank you I just worry about them spending so much time at the post office..last time I ordered I got my shipping notice and received them the next day.
