Look on Craigs list. Most people are selling laying hens for $15 - 20 or so. I would sell the pure breeds for more than the mixes. How much are roos going for now? I have someone coming tomorrow to buy some and I have no clue what to charge. I have a one year old Australorp, one year old Golden Polish, 4 month old 1 Silver Cuckoo Maran/Australorp, 4 month old Buff Comet/Australorp, 4 month old bantam OEGB/WRL Cornish. Also, what about the selling price for hens? I have a large variety of hens that are 1 year old and that are laying very well. The person that is coming to look at them said that at the auction roos go for $5 to $8 and hens $5 to $7. I thought they would bring more. I don't go to the auctions because I'm scared of what will come home with me other than a chicken or two.
Ugg, what gives?!? My daughter just bought me 100 egg cartons with personalized stickers so I can start selling my eggs and my hens have stopped laying!!! Only 2 eggs today out of 10 hens....and one of those is a bantam egg! (Can't sell those tiny eggs!) And, my juveniles haven't started laying yet! The one that squatted last week still hasn't started laying yet!

Ditto. If they want auction price, go to an auction. Look at CL to get an idea.Look on Craigs list. Most people are selling laying hens for $15 - 20 or so. I would sell the pure breeds for more than the mixes.
