YO GEORGIANS! :)

How old are the SLW? If they are at least 16 weeks old, then a layer feed is fine.

And welcome to Chicken Addicts Anonym.... err, I mean BYC!

I'm down in Jackson, about halfway between Atlanta and Macon. Jefferson is up near Athens, right?

I'm also familiar with Jefferson COUNTY, which is south of Augusta.

Well, I went to Tractor Supply. Just got back about an hour ago. While I was there I picked up all the feed my chickens need, and then... another egg turner for the second incubator.

I don't know why I got it NOW. I'm about to get goose eggs, which won't fit in the egg turner, so I'll have to take it right back out anyway. But I now have two fully functional incubators for this hatching season.

Give me a few weeks, and I'll probably get a third "You know, just in case..."

I also picked up some corn seeds since all of their seed packets are coming out now. I figured I might grow just one or two stalks to give my chickens (and geese) fresh corn, and the geese might take some of the lower stalk leaves too.

I love this. You are like me - anything for our babies! My Yuna is completely blind in one eye and sight going in the other. I discovered some spots that might be pox so she is isolated and gets all kinds of special treats while we see what is going on. She has not been healthy in the three of her four years but always battles back. I just adore her.

I am. Just getting a head start to the 2014 hatching season, although a lot of mine aren't laying right now. I'm only getting about 5-7 eggs a day.
