YO GEORGIANS! :)

Alright folks, let's get ready for Stupid State to show it's true colors again.

This Wednesday they are predicting rain, plus temperatures that STAY in the freezing range. If you have kids, and their school doesn't close, keep them home anyway. If you don't HAVE to be out on the roads, STAY HOME. And give your chickens plenty of DRY shelter. We all know what happened a couple of weeks ago, so start spreading the word, and let us not repeat that issue!

I'm thankful that I'll be staying on the southside through out the entire thing, and most likely not working. My biggest concern is my chickens, and I'm debating whether or not to find some type of heater to put out there with them. Knowing their dumb butts, they'll sleep ON TOP of the shelter and get rained on and then frozen, and not IN the shelter where it's dry.

I have a severe hatching addiction. I'm getting mottled AMs as soon as this batch is out, then English Orps for the Easter hatch a long, then, hopefully, Dorkings in May. And I'll be hatching my mutts in the in between. Yep, definitely addicted. And I'm trying to find Narragansett and Bourbon Red turkey eggs.

If my two hens start laying soon, I can hook you up with some Narragansett eggs. I have a trio; just sold the last Jake from the summer hatch. I've never been patient enough to hatch any of their eggs myself -whatever the girls don't sit on becomes breakfast because they're perfect omelet size, lol!

I just did the happy dance in the middle of Ingle's. That would be soooo awesome! Just let me know when and where! :D

these are my Easter egger bantams. i know i put ameraucana but i was mistaken. yeah these chicks decided to come out and eat around a little bit, and from my understanding, this is her first group of babies. i dont know if she knows what she got herself into lol. also, the rooster in the picture is the dad, and i have him over a black tailed white japanese hen. i am very curious to see something off of them.

Oh, they are adorable! I want 1! (or 7!!)

im excited to see what colors they will make! theyre pretty bad, they have been crawling all over the hen, walking around through the fence where she can't go, etc. when its time to eat and she gives that cluck, they all come running lol

I had that problem with my last broody hen. I had to keep letting her out of the pen because the babies would just go right through the spacing on the gate, and then down alongside the sheet metal. She couldn't see them there and she would freak the hell out! So I would finally give in and let her out to be with them.
