YO GEORGIANS! :)

By the way, the teacher from Conyers that contacted me wanting eggs...

She's covering FIVE total 1st grade classes, so she needs about 100 eggs to hatch (20 per class). But they moved the set week to April 11th. That's pretty far in advance, so if any of you think you can spare some eggs around then, let me know, and I can pass on the information.

Since they are doing it for a class, there is a chance that you could probably ask for the chicks back (or at least most of the chicks) once the eggs are hatched. I can only imagine the trouble this lady may have with 100 newly-hatched chicks and a bunch of first graders who can't keep them.

I think this may be the last "real" thing kids in school get to do anymore. With budget cuts taking out field trips and curriculum limiting science experiments/supplies, I love that they get to work with live science! Count me in for about a dozen BO eggs.

I just recently joined Backyard Chickens and wanted to drop in to say "Hello!' to my fellow Georgians!

I don't have any chickens yet but I hope to have my first chicks in the next week. I'm sure I will be here frequently seeking advice and moral support! I'm very nervous about this new endeavor!

Welcome from Henry County :)
