Don't want to keep roos here. Too many renters come and go and we are worried about roosters jumping on someone....especially the kids, if the kids chase them or throw stones, etc. But, I wonder if the guy would make me a deal and sell me a pullet or eggs in the future?

I really like that idea of having the guy sell you pullets in the future. Be sure to get it in writing and try to guess about when that should be so he has an idea about when you want one! This way your not adding to your flock just yet (happy husband!) but you know your getting what you wanted and have a little hen to look forward to of the breed!

Aww, I have to put a chick down. He has been walking on his hocks since he hatched, not his feet. I have no idea if he can even feel his feet. But he refuses to walk on them either way. I tried doing the bandage thing between his legs, but he has no problem with holding them together. He just wants to walk on his hocks,and not his toes like a normal chick. And he's four days old now, so he's quickly becoming too old to help him develop properly.

Do I even want to ask how one puts a chick down?

The brown/tan ones on the left are supposed to be Silver Laced Wyandottes but um.... shouldn't there be some grey in them? Any idea what they are?

The white EE is really starting to tame up specially with the kids!

Also, what indications can I look for to see if they are male/female at this age?

Look at comb size. I'll try to get some pics of my younger ones for examples.
