They are easter eggers. The roo was sold as an ameraucana/blue egg gene, but I knew he was an ee. The little pullet JUST started laying the most beautiful dark blue green eggs!

Do hens "sun" themselves? I found my pullet BO lounging in a sunny spot. Is that normal?

I know our little ones like to get in the sun to warm themselves. On a nice day like today they probably just like to enjoy lying in the sun like a dog or a cat does. They'll be running for shade soon enough.

That's a good thing. If you did, you'd wind up violating a big no-no of discussing chickens on BYC. The same sort of discussions one hears while at auctions with lots of roosters. Sort of "the-thing-that-must-not-be-discussed"
