YO GEORGIANS! :)

Mine too, but I'm trying to cut myself slack since I stressed all week. AND now that it's raining, it's not so bad. First 3/4 of the day I was only pretending it was raining. :D

This is my sweet Yuna Belle - she has gone blind over the last two years. She has made it through serious bronchial infections THREE times and we adore her. As she became disabled she got attacked horribly by our bigger chickens and we put her in with our Mille Fleurs d' Uccles and Silkies . They were great but she couldn't 't get enough food. So now she has her own place. We made some modifications to the coop to critter proof it and she seems so happy.

I am thinking of adding one hen as a companion to her so am looking for a Frizzled Cochin or Serama (hen only)if anyone knows of any available. I am in Newnan GA

I'm impressed that this girl has done as well as she has; I didn't think a blind bird would fare well, but has proved me wrong :). All thanks to excellent care, no doubt. I don't know of Seramas or frizzled Cochins off the top of my head, but I may be overlooking someone.

@abmaddox1981 : Did you get any work done on the monster coop this weekend, or did you just catch up with @chickenrunner83 ?

I was feeling optimistic at the beginning of the day, but Mr. Zoo threw my plans off schedule -again. Yesterday was interrupted by a last minute call to groom, so my coop/barn/brooder shuffling is still not complete!

The good news is that I did start collecting eggs for @ChickDancer , and nearly all of my laying-age hens are laying! My black Ameraucana started laying again today, the Silkie has been laying, and the lead turkey hen started a few days ago. I'm just waiting for the other turkey and my guinea hen.

Here's my Am. egg (I need to get one of those color charts to compare it too)

Now to decide whether to send it straight to the school hatching project, or eat it for breakfast after checking for fertility?

PS: I have the one turkey egg set aside for incubation, but she hasn't laid another egg yet (most likely will tomorrow, unless storms freak her out). I'm having mixed feeling about going to Florida this month; the trip cuts into my incubating plans!
