YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have a single Blue Copper Marans hen, and I have fallen in love with her(and her eggs). I had no idea the color of eggs she would lay when my husband brought her home, so I was shocked to find such a dark egg in the coop!

She came with a roo, but he is NOT a Marans, he's a Blue laced Red Wyandotte. So, I went on the hunt for other Marans, and found a guy about 10 minutes from me selling eggs- they are in the bator now. I still haven't found anyone with the Wyandottes, though.

Besides the buff Orpingtons and those two, I also have a pair of black and trio of splash Cochins from a local guy who breeds and shows them, and some Light Brahmas and Tetra Tint chicks in the brooder. Oh, and my daughters have a pair of white silkies from my mom. We have a very diverse flock!
I used to have a pair of BLRW. I gave them to another member here.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Marans. I have Blue Coppers and Black Coppers at the farm now and a bunch of chicks coming up (Blue/Black/Splash Coppers) and a bunch of eggs in the incubator.

I'm finding other chickens that I like as well but those guys and gals really have my attention for now.

Is your hen French or English?

Oh my gosh. I fall asleep while the little zookeeper is watching TiVo'd episodes of her favorite show (and I'm logged in here), and the next thing I know I'm looking at the end credits for "Up" and all heck has broken out here! :lol: :pop

WelCome new peeps :welcome
I'm southeast of Atlanta and I will admit to being very fond of chickens, but crazy about rabbits.

@ChickDancer
What's your work schedule again this week? I'm going to be cruising around Griffin tomorrow; any chance you could meet out near there to transfer eggs - maybe even late afternoon? I have 14 so far. When do you need them by again?

French.

I'm feeling the effects of not enOugh sleep this week; I'm heading back to sleep now that everyone is tucked in for the night. See you in the morning!

Flowerbh how old are you chicks? Mine are 2 wks now and after reading a thread about feather lengths I photographed mine too. But I dont know exact ages of mine just that they looked about week old from what a friend said here they sell them soon as they can get to market. Its every monday and thursday here weather permitting as its outside and very little cover availableas well as flooding from rain is common. I think my images are in my Libya Cicks album. But its another thing ive saved to my tablet to try and identify sexes. Until my language skills are better.
