YO GEORGIANS! :)

Well, my hatch is over. I ended up with 10/12 Golden Cuckoo Marans, 5/7 Buff Orpingtons and 1/1 Cochins. I feel really really bad because the last 4 eggs were doing nothing. So, I candled them. Saw no movement. Tapped on them, sang to them, ..... nothing. So, I figured they were quitters. I poked a small hole in the top of two and looked in....yep, dead. So, I did the next two and to my surprise, they were still alive......but they ended up dying. I wish I had just given them more time. I should have known it was possible for them to just be slow! Ugh. But, we are happy with the results. It looks like of the BO. 3 are girls and 2 boys. Of the GCM, it looks like 4 boys and 4 girls and 2 that are iffy? They have a cross between the boy color and the girl color. Also, one chick has something wrong with it.....has a big lump behind its head and under both sides of it's neck.

I hatched them in the egg carton. Worked really well. Clean and eggs don't get rolled around.

(GCM) Girl is the blackish one in the middle, boy on bottom and BOs, too!

Sorry, for some reason, the picture won't turn! oh well, they are cute no matter which way they are!

The girls were cooped up for so long. I let them run around the yard for a few hours. They had a ball. I let the dogs out one at a time for supervised visitation. It was funny the little dog was depressed like. Didn't want to even look at them.
