YO GEORGIANS! :)

Okay, okay, ducks too. I can't quite get pics of one without the other anyway, since they all live/stay together.

Miracle with two pekins

A pekin letting the new mallard (hopefully) sleep against him. They stayed like this for a few minutes.

Hope keeping an eye on the new duck babies.

Hope about to grab a bite of grass.

Miracle, Wonder, and a pekin, taking a drink from one of the MANY water containers we have set up for them.

Wonder looking over the log at the new babies.

Three of the pekins keeping watch over the new little ones.

Hope is actually NOT being aggressive in this photo. She's trying to nudge the little crested black swedish duck to her! She took to these little guys like they were her own babies, and she's just four weeks old!

Hope grabbing another bite.

Miracle and Wonder hanging out with the ducks.

Wonder keeping an eye on the rest of his flock

Evidence of a goose passing through. No, this plant was not hit with a lawnmower, it was hit with a sebastopol mower....

The three babies playing hide-and-seek with the bigger ones. Crested blue swedish, crested black swedish, and hopefully a mallard.

Another shot of the three little ones.

A pekin in mid-run to catch up to the others.

Miracle looking for more grass to munch.

Miracle found the feed bucket!

Hey gang ... hope you all are well prepared and that we all come out the other side of these storms without much damage. Keep it low and covered.

I know I'll be okay. The good die young, and I'm not good, so I'll live a while longer.

I'm very worried about the birdies though. I lose enough to predators. I don't want to lose any to a storm, also!

Kind of like CR said, they mostly love you when you have edible things.

I only have one hen who seems to truly hang out, but here starts as a run to me to check for food, then lingers out of pure curiosity for what I'm getting into, as opposed to any feelings toward me.

But sometimes I like to pretend.

I do, too! I do have a couple of hens that have come and stood on me when I was out sitting in my chicken clothes and then sat down and took a wee nap. So that was not about food. I put in a lot of time with them from the time they were 2 day old chicks. I would sit with them for a couple of hours at a time quite a few days a week. I haven't always had time to do that but I still spend about an hour a day out there around them. I don't sit as much but when I do they come around me.
