How's my foster EE doing?
They are all doing fine! They are so sweet :) I can't wait to see what they will look like when they get bigger~ I told the hubby today that he *may* need to make me another coop...

You did. I was the one talking about it. I get them in tomorrow. It's just that this thread and conversations in it move SO FAST, you usually have to quote the person you're responding to, so others know who you're talking to.

Right now, the minimum order from McMurray is 15 chicks. But bantams and large fowl are counted separately.

Good luck with your babies :) I'm getting an order together from way on out in California for day olds (Tolbunts, WC black & WC blue). It won't bee too long before my Polish coop is hopping :)

I just can't wait until your Tolbunts start reproducing :-D

Wow, everyone has new babies or chicks hatching and all the pics are so cute! I moved my Buckeyes and Ameraucanas to the grow out pen last week and have eight still in the brooder...4 LF partridge Cochins, 2 cuckoo Marans, 1 sizzle, and 1 silkie. I'm ready for them to go out so I can add more to the brooder

. On the downside, I have three broody hens and I checked the eggs under two of them last night because it's getting close to hatch time for them - 0 developing eggs out of six! I took the eggs and now just have to try and break the broodies. Still have 1 sitting on 9 eggs but she just started a few days ago. Hopefully she's on fertile eggs.

On a separate note, I need some advise. When I went to the coops yesterday morning, I found one of my 8 wk old chicks stuck in a chair and hanging by her feet. I keep a folding chair closed and leaned against the coop so I can sit with the chicks and let them get used to me. Well, somehow her legs got stuck between the folding bars and now she can't walk. I feel horrible! I did chicken physical therapy with her multiple times yesterday and tried everything I can think of but she doesn't seem to be able to move her claws at all. Her claws just stay kinda crimped up in a ball. They open and close when I extend and retract her legs but she can't do it herself. Any suggestions?

Oh no!! Can you splint her little feet open with some cardboard and tape, or something like others have posted? That's about all I can think of but I would definitely give her more time. I'm so sorry, that's just awful. :(

Well I've hot 30 marans eggs a five mutt eggs I'm my bater and so far it's going great all the eggs that I have candled are good I'm just hoping it all goes well if so ill have a bunch of chicks around the 16th of this mouth
