YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have (3) almost 3 week old chicks and (13) 4.5 week old chicks... they live in separate brooders but right next to each other and they have been brought outside together and players on our floor together. What do you guys think about integrating them? Or are the 3 younger ones still too little?
Also, all of them are at the same temperature on the light so that wouldn't be an issue. For some reason my 3 little ones decided that they didn't need the light so hot very long. It now only gets turned on at night. They are all outside now at 85° and panting and hold their wings out when they find a sun spot

Got the girls all "poisoned" up, lol. I removed them from the coop one at a time and took them to the driveway. Only dusted vents but did it thoroughly. Left them out to scratch around for a bit.

Went back to the run and caught up the littles and dusted their butts with the plain DE.. No signs at all of mites on them so just pre-treating. Cleaned up the run floor and DE'd that.. Cleaned out the coop also and mixed new DE in with the shavings and sprinkled each nest box.

Funny, I never thought I'd have such a clean feeling after cleaning out a chicken coop. LOL

I got my 2 blrw's today! That puts me up to 11 birds in my kitchen! And I blame carcar and every single one of you on the forum! When I joined I was happy with my 4 little birds outside, then BAM! Now I have an incubator and eleven chickens in the kitchen.... Does anyone have BCM chicks for sale?
@abmaddox1981 might have some, or she may have some available soon. Unfortunately, she's on the south side. But maybe she can mail you some hatching eggs instead?

I'm kinda curious to know what she ended up with from her giant Easter hatch...

If they play together just fine, they should be just fine for sleeping together. It will actually help their body heat when they all gather in one big pile.

I got my nephew to split the remainder of the DE bag here between the Silkies and the Sumatras. The EE's find their own spots in the yard, and there are a couple of piles of DE in the yard for them, if they prefer.

The babies are my biggest concern, because they are the ones affected the most by mites. I might have to buy another bag of DE, get another plastic tray somewhere, and toss it all in there. But with them, I'll probably put the Sevin dust in there with the DE to treat them, just to be sure the mites f**king DIE!

Broody hatched 2 eggs so far....4 more under her and 3 eggs under another broody.. They are due tomorrow. The babies are BOs from a neighbor. This broody, Halo, is a mystery chicken. The egg I hatched was suppose to be a Lemon Orpinton, but when it hatched, she has feathered feet and was obviously not what it was suppose to be. I sent a photo to the lady I had gotten the eggs from and she couldn't even imagine what crossed what with her available hens/roos. But, she makes a great mom and she lays a purplish brown egg, so I am happy!

Yes. Fred was hatched at end of season last year and has been crowing from the moment he laid eyes on my little girl who was hatched this spring. When she begins to lay I'll feel comfortable that she is mature enough for the two to be together.
