YO GEORGIANS! :)

Looking around the house we are hoping to buy for a good spot to put the chickens, there is a long wall part of which iscovered by a grape arbor. What do you think? Dappled sun in summer and protected from cold winds in winter? Will try and post a photo in my album today so people can give suggestions. She has a small cage that she had a dog with 3 pups in and I can pull up more tile. Water on opposite wall and next to kitchen so easy to reach and keep tidbits going out. Im trying not to get to excited on this house but prayers are good if its meant to be it will work out.

Sounds perfect! The chickens will especially love the grapes! Fingers crossed that you get the house!

They'll definitely love the grapes!

I just got some grapes and cabbage to feed to the ducks and geese. But the baby chicks (who can currently slip through the holes in the gate of their pen) kept running out to sneak some away from the water fowl!

Very excited.  Went to dinner and came back to find my broody chicken just hatched the two Indian Runner duck eggs she was sitting on.  She started with 4 eggs.  One never developed and one got broken when another hen tried to get in the nest.  We then moved the broody to her own private crate with the two eggs and they are here!  Will try to get photos tomorrow.  They weren't due until Thursday!  Yea!

Exciting!!!

Oglethorpe county outside of Athens!

Welcome :frow

Well, I lost my white silkie HEN to a predator last night. It's almost definitely the same one that got the white roo and black hen, because it went in and out the same exact way!

THANKFULLY, I have about four white chicks I'm waiting to grow up, and then the blue silkies from McMurray too.
