YO GEORGIANS! :)

One option you have is getting eggs and incubating them together, or having someone else incubate them all for you. Eggs are also much easier to ship!

Oh I dont know, im a newbie. Incubating just seems challenging to me :/ the birds you bought from the hatchery that died, were they eggs or chicks?

Chicks. I hatch my own eggs all the time and have MUCH fewer problems with them than I did with those chicks from McMurray! I even got chicks from McMurray last year, and they were fine! I am at a complete loss for these.

But I also tend to get really awesome hatch rates too - better than most others around here.

@prinette. Try to take him out on a very short leash if u have a halter cooler use it it will give u better controlled over your dog. take it slow and don't force the ducks to him let him get there smell and then calm back down show him just as much attion as u do the ducks and watch him for any signs of aggerssion.do not let him get overly excited. With any dog always make sure u a close by if he is out with the birds some dogs will attack chicks and duck after being around them there hole life with out a problem. It may take several days of walking him around the ducks for your dog to calm down. Hope this helps sorry bout the spelling

So... do any of you have some of these breeds laying right now, and willing to part with some eggs? Purebreds only, though.
If you'd be interested in pullets/cockrels instead of eggs ... Robo is going to be thinning his Silver Laced Wyandottes before too much longer.

The drake is a fawn runner/Pekin mix so the runner blood lineis fairly ddeleted in these eggs. Not sure they will be any good by the 22nd but there's sure to be more.
I wish I could get them but I am already so overwhelmed with babies and incubators loaded and "where am I putting all of these birds???" I know how unbelievably messy ducks are but I really do love them.

Welp, I think my black runner may be a cayuga mix. Hes got the most beautiful blue/greens in his wings but he is starting to get white feathers and his head is still fuzzy with down.
We have a gorgeous Cayuga. Can't wait to get more at some point.

We also have this freak mutt duck ... mom is full pekin, dad is a solid black duck of unknown breed. The mutt is absolutely HUGE, black with a green head, blue and green on his wings, and orange feet with black lowlights/shadowing. His name is Stu.
